Why a
journal?
Your
Personal Journal is here for you whenever you
want to express or reflect on your life. A
personal journal is a private diary that
contains your thoughts, feelings, and
experiences. History has proven that journaling
dates back to at least the 10th century. With
the discovery that most prosperous and
well-known individuals kept journals, there can
be no doubt to its tremendous benefits for
success, plus emotional and physical health.
Journaling allows you to express yourself,
release worries and hurts, increases awareness
of your needs, promotes self-honesty, assists in
formulating ideas and perspective, builds
self-confidence, reduces stress, strengthens the
immune system, increases gratitude, resolve, and
joy in your life. Scientists state that the act
of writing accesses the left side of your brain,
which is where reason and logic dwell. While
you?re the left side of your brain is busy
writing, the right side of your brain is free to
create, to feel, and to reflect. Journaling
allows you to use all your brainpower to better
understand yourself, other people, and life in
general. In time, when you look back on journal
entries you will be able to track your growth
and wisdom as well as trends of repeating
certain thoughts and behaviors. So, how do you
start to journal? Experts find that the benefits
of journaling are more effective when you
journal daily for at least 15 minutes. Dismiss
proper spelling and grammar?your journal will
never be graded or published. There?s no set
agenda or format to use; however, here are some
questions to ask to inspire your journaling
process: What crossroads have I faced today?? Am
I currently avoiding someone or something in my
life?? What choices do I need to consider in
order to change the direction of my life?? Where
did I find myself wanting to control or
influence someone's opinion or actions?? What
makes me a special person?? Whose approval did I
try to seek today, and why did I think I needed
it?? What frustrates me when I try to connect
with others?? Do I have any regrets about
anything today?? What?s one thing I want to
trust God to be changing in my life right now??
Where am I allowing fear or worry to hold me
back in life?? What do I believe about myself
today?? What are five things I am grateful for
today?? What do I appreciate today?? What are my
goals for tomorrow, next month, next
year??

Keep your journal within
reach...
You'll want your
journal to be easily accessable so that whenever
you have the inclination to review your past
writings, they'll be there for you. We've made
available an easy way to get started and to
continue with your journaling by providing you
with an easy-to-use page where you can write
your entries and immediately print them for your
future reference. A suggestion is to insert them
into a 3-ring binder as you print each one. This
is a nice way to keep your entries organized. As
you experience journaling more and more, you may
find that you'll want to categorize them by
topics. Using a 3-ring binder is very convenient
for this purpose. The journal page we have
provided includes entry spaces for a "Topic,"
"Title," "Entry," and a "Word of the Day." For
example, your "Topic" might be My
Relationship, your "Title" might be
Better Day Today, your "Entry" would, of
course, be just that. Maybe your "Word of the
Day" is Belief, to perhaps act as a
simple reminder that you want to place a special
focus, throughout your day, on believing in your
abilities to improve your relationship. The way
you use your journal is up to you - have fun
with this! Also, we do not have access to your
entries...we have no way of reading
them.
Let's
begin!
Okay,
to get started, whenever you visit this page,
just click on the "My Journal" button and start
journaling - it's that simple! If you have made
My Personal Assistant your
homepage, you can access your journal page
directly from there as well. After you are
finished with your entry, click the RED button
to print your page. The BLUE button is there to
clear your page after you are finished. You can
also use it to reset your page in case you'd
like to start over at any time. Your "Entry"
area on a page is limited to 30 lines (including
text, spaces, and line breaks), so if you'd like
more room to type, simply click the GREEN button
after you print your page and you'll get another
journal page with an extra "Entry" box (do the
same if your text stops). Please keep in mind
that your printer will print only what is
visible in the text boxes.
If
journaling is new for you, the best way to go
about it is to start!
